Air Conditioning in Ossett

F-Gas certified cooling and heating for homes across West Yorkshire

Air Conditioning

Fuzzy Duck PHC supplies and installs air conditioning across Ossett, Wakefield and West Yorkshire from £1,850. Our engineers are F-Gas certified, and the air-to-air systems we fit both cool in summer and heat in winter. Once a room is at temperature, running costs are around 10p to 35p an hour, and the outdoor units are quiet, often quieter than a home fridge.

Modern air conditioning does far more than cool a room in a heatwave. The air-to-air heat pump systems we install both cool in summer and heat in winter, so when they are sized correctly for the space they keep a room comfortable all year round. It is one of the most flexible ways to control the climate in a single room or across a whole home.

Efficiency is where these systems really surprise people. Under normal conditions, once a room has reached the temperature you have set, running costs work out at around 10p to 35p an hour. Because they respond quickly and only work as hard as they need to, they are an economical way to stay comfortable.

Noise is rarely an issue. Depending on the size of the unit, the outdoor condenser can be quieter than the fridge in your kitchen, and the indoor units run at a gentle whisper. All of our air conditioning work is carried out by F-Gas certified engineers, so the refrigerant side is handled correctly and legally.

Installations start from around £1,850 for a single room and scale up for multi-room systems. We survey the space, recommend the right unit and position, install it cleanly, and show you how to get the most out of it. Prices run up to around £5,000 for larger multi-room setups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Air Conditioning Questions

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Ossett and cover Horbury, Wakefield, Mirfield, Denby Dale, Huddersfield, Rothwell, Normanton, Sandal and Leeds, along with the surrounding West Yorkshire area. If you are just outside and not sure, give us a call on 07747 772276 and we will let you know.

Are you Gas Safe registered and F-Gas certified?

Yes. We are Gas Safe registered for all gas and boiler work, and REFCOM F-Gas certified for air conditioning and heat pump refrigerant work. That means every job is carried out legally and to the required safety standards.

Who will carry out the work?

Fuzzy Duck PHC is a small, growing local business led by owner Matthew, with team member Sam. You deal with the people doing the work from start to finish, not a call centre, and we take real pride in leaving your property clean and tidy.

What are your opening hours?

We are available Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 12:00. We also offer a 24 hour callout service for genuine emergencies.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for boiler, heat pump and air conditioning work. Call us on 07747 772276 or fill in the enquiry form and we will come back to you with a clear, honest price.

How do you keep my home clean during the work?

Keeping your property tidy is a priority for us. We use dust sheets, protect your floors and surfaces, and clear up properly at the end of every visit, because we treat your home the way we would want ours treated.

How long does the installation usually take?

Most straightforward boiler installations are completed and up and running within the day. More involved system upgrades can take a little longer, and we will give you a clear timescale as part of your quote.

Which are the best boilers?

Our preferred brands are Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, as they are reliable, efficient and well supported. That said, we are happy to accommodate your needs and fit whatever suits your home and budget best.

How much does a new boiler cost?

Our price guide for a new boiler installation runs from around £2,000 to £5,000. The final figure depends on the boiler you choose, the size and complexity of your system, and any extra work needed. You get a clear, fixed quote after we have surveyed your home.

Do you remove the old boiler?

Yes. Removing and disposing of your old boiler responsibly is included as part of the installation. You do not need to arrange anything separately.

Is the new boiler covered by a warranty?

Yes. New boilers come with a manufacturer-backed warranty, and we register it on your behalf. We will explain the exact warranty length for the boiler you choose before you commit.

Will a heat pump work on my house?

Yes, as long as the system is properly designed and installed for your property. We carry out a full heat loss calculation first so the heat pump is sized correctly for how your home holds and loses heat.

Will a heat pump run my radiators and underfloor heating at the same time?

Yes, with no problem at all. Once the heat loss calculations are complete, the design temperatures we set allow the system to run both radiators and underfloor heating together.

How noisy are heat pumps when running?

If the manufacturer clearance zones are followed, a running heat pump is no louder than an average fridge, around 70 dB at one metre. It sits outside, so in normal use it is barely noticeable.

How much does a heat pump cost to install?

Our air source heat pump installations start from around £3,500, depending on the size of your property and the system being replaced. The heat loss survey and full design are part of the service.

Are heat pumps efficient to run?

A correctly designed and installed heat pump is a very efficient way to heat a home, as it moves heat rather than burning fuel to create it. Getting the design right is the key, which is exactly why we start every job with a proper heat loss calculation.

Will air conditioning heat and cool my room?

Yes. Air-to-air heat pumps are designed to both heat and cool, and when sized correctly they keep a room comfortable all year round, warm in winter and cool in summer.

Are air conditioning units efficient to run?

Under normal conditions, once the room has reached the temperature you have set, running costs are around 10p to 35p an hour on average. They only work as hard as they need to, which keeps them economical.

Are the outdoor units noisy?

Depending on the size of the unit, the outdoor condenser can be quieter than the fridge in your home. The indoor units run at a gentle whisper, so they are easy to live with.

How much does air conditioning cost to install?

Air conditioning installations start from around £1,850 for a single room and scale up to about £5,000 for larger multi-room systems. We will give you a clear price after seeing the space.

Do I need certified engineers for air conditioning?

Yes, and we are. Air conditioning involves refrigerant, which by law must be handled by F-Gas certified engineers. All of our air conditioning work is carried out to that standard.
